Russ Segner, Mike Donnelly and Ken Liesse are regular volunteers and already know about this.

The Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie begins its largest fundraiser of the year and it is starting this week! If you can lend an extra set of hands for a day, we could really use your help. This will be our best Thomas so far, but it means we need a few extra people. We have sold over 17,000 tickets so far for the event! Tickets are only left for the second Friday, July 17.

This Friday (July 10th) is the first day of Thomas the Tank Engine™ and we still need people each day as car attendants, help with story time, crowd control, the model trains, and a helper to hang out with James in the bookstore. On Saturday, we need crowd control volunteers and a James helper in the bookstore. On Sunday we need more car attendants, crowd control help, model train volunteers, and a retail tent helper.

We need help not only this weekend (10th thru 12th), but the following weekend (17th thru 19th).

Though people sometimes groan about Thomas, it is actually a really fun event (even if it’s hard work). Seeing the excitement and sheer joy on the kids’ faces when they get to see real live Thomas for the first time is amazing! This event is what is attracting the next generation of train lovers.
