Our Clinic this month is titled “Kitbashing Locomotives for Realism and Operations”.  Rich Blake, our clinician this month, will describe some of his techniques for modifying and detailing some of his locomotives to enhance their appearance as well as better operation.  Disassembling and modifying a new locomotive can sometimes seem like a daunting task.  However, if you want to emulate a specific prototype or super detail for an NMRA AP, then this challenge can be one of the more interesting and rewarding parts of your modeling.  Rich is the clinic chair for the Skagit Valley and Whidbey NMRA Clinic.  He is also part of the Pacific Northwest On30 Modular Group and models logging and short line themed modules based on narrow gauge prototypes in the southwest corner of Washington such as the Bay Lumber Company and the Ilwaco Railway and Navigation Railroad.

After the Clinic, we will have some time for other folks to show off their latest model work in our “Show and Brag” segment.
