Take it Easy and Ride the Steam Train this Labor Day!
The Northwest Railway Museum pays tribute to America’s workers this Labor Day with a special weekday steam train run of the Museum’s antique train on Monday, September 5th (as well as all of Labor Day weekend.) This is in addition to the railroad’s usual weekend steam train schedule. The Northwest Railway Museum offers scenic train excursions through the Cascade foothills of the Upper Snoqualmie Valley, including a ride past the top of Snoqualmie Falls and a splendid view of the valley below.
Trains depart every 2 hours beginning at 11:00 am from the Snoqualmie Depot at 38625 SE King Street and at 11:30 am from the North Bend Depot at 205 E. McClellan Street. Roundtrip fares: $12 children ages 2-12, $22 adult ages 13-61, and $20 senior ages 62 and up!
Visitors to the museum experience the excitement of a working railroad while learning about the important role railroads played in shaping the character of the Pacific Northwest. Exhibits and interpretive signage are visible around the Snoqualmie Depot. Train Shed Tour Packages are also available with advanced reservation – contact the Museum Bookstore 425-888-3030 ext. 7202 for Train Shed Tour Package reservations. The depot and bookstore are open to the public 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily.
Santa Train Tickets On Sale Now
It’s that “ho, ho, ho” season and Santa Train tickets sell out fast! Don’t miss your chance to experience this unique holiday tradition that has been going on in Snoqualmie for 47 years. For eight days, beginning November 26, families can take a holiday train excursion aboard Santa Train to visit Santa Claus at the historic Snoqualmie Depot. Children and their families will enjoy music, fresh-baked cookies from coal-fired ovens, hot cocoa and fresh coffee, and a small gift for each child. The two-hour holiday celebration takes place November 26-27, December 3-4, December 10-11, and December 16-17.
Tickets may be purchased online (by clicking here), in person at the Snoqualmie Depot (38625 SE King Street, Snoqualmie, WA 98065); or by phone at 425-888-3030 x7202. Tickets are $24 per person for everyone ages 2 & older. There are seven hourly departures to choose from 9 am to 3 pm. Steam Santa Train will be running on Friday, December 16! Purchasing tickets early is recommended to help assure your preferred choice of date and time as tickets sell out every year.
