Ross Tabor, one of the original members of the 4D HO Modular group, has passed. Services will be on Saturday, April 9, at 2 PM at Federal Way United Methodist Church, 29645 51st Ave S, Auburn, WA 98001.
His obituary at Cascade Memorial:
Ross Tabor was born on May 4, 1930 and passed away on April 2, 2016 in Des Moines, Washington. He is survived by his loving wife, family, and friends. He is and will be dearly missed.
I am glad to have counted Ross as one of my good friends. He took pride in his historical knowledge, which was reflected in his modeling. His scratch-built model of the large Northern Pacific brick station in Centralia was always an attention-getter at module layout shows.
We spend many happy hours together in his garage, working on the wiring of his modules.
He followed Ray Richards as HO Module Group chair in the late 1980’s, and he was in turn followed by Norm Curtis in the 1990’s
He was one of the group who put together the “Third Build” of modules in 1993, which roughly doubled the number of modules after the “First Build” in 1988 and the “Second Build” in 1990.
