Jim Trunzo, PRRT & HS PNWC President
The next meeting of the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical & Historical Society Pacific Northwest Chapter is scheduled for October 17th, 1 pm, at the Pacific Northwest Railroad Archive, pnrarchive.org, in Burien. I can be contacted by e-mail at jetrunzo@gmail.com or by cell phone at 509-421-3111.
The agenda:
-
We’re now an official PRRT&HS Chapter; with that said:
- How do we proceed from here?
- Making our presence known so we can attract members:
- Bob Esposito’s publicity efforts
- Website? I have been looking at free website space
- “Postcard” size pass outs, “Rack Cards”
- Recap of Al Baker’s private tour of the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation for PRRT & HS members during the NMRA convention
- Discussion of a group activity; I have been looking at the “Keystone Container Service” transportation of containers from the rail yard to and from customers (but someone may have another idea)
- “Clinic” presentation:
- Bill Myers on the H8/9/10 consolidations; discussion of the “plumbing” of the consoles, brief development and some unique differences in the classes
- I will bring my control panel materials if anyone is interested in the topic
- Movie? Bob Esposito will bring in “Pennsylvania Glory, Volume 1” (Pennsy in the 1950s with Steam, Electric & Diesel Power in action); bring yours as well
- “Show and Tell” and swap table; bring what you want to show or sell!
- Dinner at Vince’s afterwards
As always, please bring your spouses and others who have an interest in the Pennsylvania RR. I’m always worried that I’ve missed someone, so feel free to pass this along with the appropriate invite.
The meeting starts at 1 pm but I usually get there earlier to set up, 10:30 am if the building is open. The Electric Train Shop is one block over and they open at 11:00 on Saturdays.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone again.
