DESCRIPTION:Olympia Clinic is sponsoring a Saturday trip to Kitsap Live steamers in Port Orchard WA    https://kls.clubexpress.com/ \nLocated in: South Kitsap Regional Park \nAddress: 3101 SE Marbeth Ln\, Port Orchard\, WA 98366\, enter at Jackson Avenue side \nFestivities begin at 11:00.  Look for the Gophers sign near the front gate.  It is an open to the public day so we will mix in with anyone else that happens to be there that day.  At around noon everyone that is part of this Gophers trip will get to go inside the Kitsap member’s area to have a hotdog lunch (Sabol Dogs) grilled by Jim Sabol. \nPlease RSVP to  (gregorywright2002@yahoo.com) so we know how many hot dogs to bring!  If you want to bring a bag of chips or a dessert\, feel free! \nIf you need a ride from Olympia\, please say so in your RSVP.  We will set up cars leaving from Olympia at about 9:30.  Details will be sent to anyone requesting a ride. \nAfter lunch you can stay as long as you like or until the park closes at 4:00 pm. \nFriends\, family and other railroaders are invited\, just RSVP if you want a Sabol Dog! \nIf weather becomes an issue\, everyone will get an email cancelling the event. \n

The event also showcases 7-1/2 inch gauge live-steam operating trains. As the largest all-scale model train show on the West Coast\, it remains one of the few events in the country dedicated to raising funds in support of youth programs. \nOver the past three decades\, the United NorthWest Model Railroad Club has raised nearly $350\,000 for charitable organizations\, with a focus on supporting youth development.

He will also demonstrate his new control system. John Thompson will share progress on his new HO layout featuring the Santa Fe in Victorville\, California. He will also show photos of the layouts at the Tacoma History Museum over the holidays. Di Voss will show his latest project of creating an HO scale Streetcar\, circa. 1900\, that he printed on a 3D printer. Di now lives in an “Over 55 Retirement Community” in Arizona\, where one club has a 5 color 3D printer. \nFinally\, I share photos of my collection of HO steam D&RGW locomotives.
