FastTracks treats its customers well

Ted Becker

I ordered some filing jigs and track gauges from FastTracks in Canada back in November. I waited patiently until the middle of December, but no package arrived. Tracking info said it was delivered on Dec 8.

I contacted FastTracks and the Post Office and eventually FastTracks sent a replacement order. It arrived yesterday, the same day I received an email from FastTracks announcing that one of the items I received was now on sale.

When I sent them an email acknowledging the receipt of the package, I lamented the fact that the item was now on sale. They credited me the difference in price!!!

I pass this on to spread the word about another model railroad company that treats its customers right.

Mapping info needed

CJ Riley

My friend Bill Metzger does the rail maps for Klambake. His current project is the Seattle/Tacoma area. He could use some help with data from any era regarding routes, names of yards and junctions, interurbans, etc. He has a month to wrap up. Anyone with info they can share can email me.

FOR SALE: Minicraft mini power tools

Al Carter

I have a set of Minicraft mini power tools: 2-1/4″ table saw, 3″ sander, and a drill press.

All are powered by a power center with a speed control. These tools run on 0-18vac and can all be plugged into the power center at the same time, and, of course, can run at variable speeds. I’ll also include lots of extra sanding discs and blades for the table saw. The drill press, which accepts small drill bits, is great for repetitive drilling of small holes.

I’m asking $100.00 for the set; less than half the original price. By the way, this is the 18vac set, not the more common 12vac set.

Email me here or phone 360-399-1226.

Missing Item

Ken Liesse

There are several items that 4d has owned over the years that have – for one reason or another – gone missing. They may be in someone’s garage, packed in the bottom of a closet, or just accidentally thrown away. From time to time, questions about these items and what has become of them arise, and we all wonder “hmmmmm.”

Currently, we’re wondering about a badge maker the 4D once owned. This was a device that made, well, badges! The badges were circular, a couple of inches in diameter. The whole unit would have consisted of the badge maker itself and materials for making the badges.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of this badge maker or has more information about it, please let 4D Supt. Ken Liesse know.

Sound & Northwestern Announces GN Depot Kit

Jim Bainbridge

Seattle’s own Sound & Northwestern LLC has released an HO scale, laser-cut, multimedia kit of a Great Northern 12’x34’ Standard Portable Depot. The kit represents an important railroad structure that was built by the score and shipped by flatcar to towns all along the GN lines. Some examples of this well-documented structure survive to this day. The kit can be built with or without the bay window, and includes optional parts for multiple versions. Window sashes are positionable and have laser-cut Mylar glazing. Comes with laser-printed station signs. Footprint: 1.95” D x 4.7” W. More details at www.snwlines.com.
