Books For Sale

By Steve Hauff

During our lock-down, my Manager of Domestic Tranquility suggested that I wanted to get rid of the duplicate books that I have been accumulating over the last few decades. (My response was, “Yes dear.”)

Toward that end, we have developed an Excel list of 200+ railroad books for sale which cover a wide range of subjects including many about logging and logging locomotives.

Should you be interested in taking a look at my book list, please contact me at: gearedloco@hotmail.com and I will send the list and a cover letter explaining the offering in more detail.

Thanks

Steve

A Plea – an HO-Scale Picture Setting for my RDC Camera Car

Brian Pickering

I’m in the final stages of getting an article published in a major model RR publication. However, the editor has asked if I could get pictures of the subject (the RDC “Camera Car” I assembled for the 4D HO Modular Group) on a sceniced layout.

Is there anyone with a sceniced layout on which I could take some pictures in the next week or so? While the article won’t be published for a couple of months, the layout is coming due. I’m in Sammamish, WA, so obviously the East Side is most convenient for me, but I’ll be down at the Washington State History Museum model train show in Tacoma on the 26th and 31st, and am willing to drive a reasonable distance to get the shots I need.

Thanks. I can be contacted at bpickeri@gmail.com.

Request for Photos of the HO Scale Rawlins, Lincoln, and Greeley Railway in Olympia

The Rawlins, Lincoln & Greeley Railway was one of the HO scale layouts in Olympia, Washington. It has been dismantled in preparation for a move. After dismantling most of the 9’×13′ three level core of the plan, I realized I had not taken any photographs in the past few years.

Anyone who visited “Central Wyoming in the summer of 1950” who has photos they are willing to share may e-mail digital copies to me at grove25@comcast.net. The RL&G was open during the 2015 and 2016 layout tours and open houses in Olympia. Your help will be appreciated and whatever you have will be accepted with joy.

Pacific Northwestern Railway – Abandonment of the Line

Steve Haas

Update – Sat, Oct 8:

A big “Thank You!!” to those that helped with dismantling of Tom Enloe’s Pacific Northwestern today. Significant progress was made!

However … we still have a long time to go with the dismantling of the layout.

We are fortunate (thank you Tom!) that an individual with a 40’ trailer has stepped forward to haul away as much as can be salvaged, for potential future use in any number of future layouts! Any and all salvageable segments of track, scenery, bench work, etc. are being loaded into this trailer.
