Last Thursday, the Eastside Get Together clinic met for the first time at the Redmond library. Over thirty of us got through the traffic and rain to enjoy a program presented by Brian Pickering on structures and snow fighting equipment use by railroads to keep the tracks clear. To say the least, railroads were very creative. There was some very unusual equipment.
Our new location at the library features great parking and a very nice meeting room. Our new Eastside Get Together clinic leader Dave Cook had already organized setting up the chairs and tables by the time I arrived.
CJ Turner got the coffee pot going and served up his usual collection of pastries. We had several new attendees and some who found this new location much easier to get to. There were five items brought to “show and tell”. Once again, George Chambers took first place with another of his fine O scale kit-bashed structures.
Thanks to Dave Cook and CJ Turner for stepping up to lead. I am still looking for someone to act as official greeter and monitor the badges for us. And we are still looking for new presenters for clinics.
Burr Stewart will present for our February Get-Together. He will discuss modeling based on prototypes and illustrate how he incorporates these ideas into his fine HO layout.
The next meeting is scheduled for February 18. Doors open at 6:15 and we will close at 8:45. I hope to see you there.
