For January and February (at least) the Eastside Get Together Clinic is moving from Bellevue to Redmond and will be held in the Redmond Public Library. The clinic begin and end times are changing slightly because we must clear the building by 8:45 PM, so plan to join us at 6:30 with the meeting to begin at 7:00.

Date: January 21, 2016 (same 3rd Thursday of the month)
Time: 6:30, out of the building by 8:45
Location: 15990 NE 85th, Redmond

Our program features Brian Pickering and is titled “Let It Snow”.

Synopsis:

The railroads have had encounters with that white stuff from early on, and have devised a wide range of techniques, both prevention and reaction, to deal with it. Let’s take a look at some of the snowiest areas of the country, and see what infrastructure and equipment has been devised to cope. Hopefully, we’ll see a new modeling idea or two to fit in.

Bio:

Brian Pickering is a train and computer geek. Some of his earliest train memories include staying up way too late at his grandparents house, hoping that a white and red Soo GP would drop a boxcar or flat on the siding for Uncle Don’s lumber company, giving him a backyard show. He displays with the 4D PNR HO Modular club, and pretends he knows a lot about computers and electronics, especially DCC and LCC.

We will also have our show and tell, so bring a model or related railroad item to share. Coffee and donuts may be available.
