Railfun has contracted with the family of an aviation engineer, who lived on Whidbey Island, to return his trains and layout back to the local community that they came from.

The price of this HO scale layout is $1.00 for NMRA members or $100.00 for non-NMRA members and must be removed from the Whidbey Island home near Coupeville by Saturday, January 21. It is in a daylight basement with a level exit through the garage. There’s a small chance an additional door may be added in the layout room to go directly outside before the layout is moved, which may help in moving.

Note – The engines, rolling stock, structures, tools, and supplies are separate (from the layout) and at my house in Edmonds. They will be for sale at future clinics, train shows, estate sales, or by appointment with me. There are a lot of high quality items including laser kits and cast structures.

This is a complete and intact DC layout, but will be cut up and harvested for parts if no buyer is found and moved by January 21, 2017 (the home is scheduled for major remodeling focused on the train room).

On the layout, the track work is well done with block signals including all electronic workings and control panels. The layout is set up for one man operation but can accommodate multiple operators, currently using about 15 x 20 feet of the room. There is hidden trackage, multi level areas, double track mainlines and multiple yards. Screws and sectional construction allow for a realistic moving opportunity. The trackbed is removable from the benchwork legs. We have some drawings and plan work done by the builder to assist in reconstruction. This railroad would cost hundreds of dollars to build from scratch, and can become any railroad or location you want.
